The family

Philippe

Current owner of Château Fontbonne, he hasn't always worked in wine. He began his career between the ages of 16 and 18 with a CAP (vocational training certificate) in butchery, before joining a wholesale livestock and meat trading company as a buyer/seller. Following this experience, he moved to the Toulouse area to join a company selling wine to private individuals. As an only child, and with a wealth of experience behind him, he joined the family estate on his father's side. The company's main activity was cattle breeding, but it also sold cattle and wine. It was at this time that Philippe made his first forays into the world of wine. Then, in 1992, he decided to continue working alone, and parted company with his father. In 1993, he took over the management of Château Fontbonne, and continues to develop it to this day.

Marie

Daughter of Philippe RENIER, born in 1993, the same year Philippe became owner of Château Fontbonne. Throughout her childhood, she was immersed in the world of vines and wine. She never imagined a career other than that of oenologist, so that one day she too could manage the estate. After a degree in biology, she entered the DNO program in Bordeaux in 2015. That same year, she did her first internship at the Château in vinification. This was followed by various experiences at several estates in the region. Then she decided to go on an adventure to New Zealand. She stayed there for one winemaking session in 2018, and on her return decided to join the Château Fontbonne adventure.

Sylvie

Philippe RENIER's wife, after obtaining a BEP in bookkeeping, she began her career as a banker for 10 years. She then worked as an accountant for a company selling oenological products and cellar equipment for around 11 years. During this time, she got to know the world of wine and oenology, as she was also involved in the sale of these products. She decided to give up her passion for accounting to take over the family vineyards donated by her father in 2002. She spent several years producing grapes for a winery, before making her own wine. In 2010, she joined the management team at Château Fontbonne as a partner alongside Philippe.
